What we are
Fynbos & Gold is an independent editorial guide for international travellers who want to experience Cape Town and the Western Cape at its best: the right timing, the right tables and the quieter way to see famous places. It is published by Cape Colony, based in South Africa.
What we cover
- Attraction guides: Table Mountain, Cape Point, Robben Island, Kirstenbosch, the Winelands and more.
- Private experiences: helicopter flights, private Winelands days, whale season in Hermanus.
- Dining and trip planning, with pages for visitors from the UK, US, Germany, the Netherlands and France, and a German-language section.
Why the name
Fynbos is the extraordinary native vegetation of the Cape Floral Region, one of the richest plant kingdoms on earth. Gold is the late light on the Atlantic Seaboard and the colour of a Cape Chardonnay. Together they describe what we love about the place.
How we work
